Orientation

So our first day getting to campus for orientation turned out to be quite the adventure! Part of it is getting used to the bus/tram system here and the other part is just plain figuring out directions!! My roommate Maura and I left the flat early and headed out to get some morning breakfast yesterday and hopped on the tram. It was the right tram, keep this in mind. But we missed the stop we were supposed to get off on. So trying to back track was a little rough! Then we worked on getting back towards where we needed to be and got on the right bus number, but just one minor detail. We were headed the wrong direction. At this point we didn't really realize it! Next thing we know we came around the corner and there was the Colosseum!! Oh the joys of living in Rome! So after a quick stop to take pictures we kept on walking back the way we came! A nice lady told us to just get off the bus and go to the next stop on the other side of the road and we should find the bus we needed! WRONG! Ha but it sure was a beautiful walk!

After we finally made it to the school in a taxi, we sat through orientation and found out all of the great things there are to do around the school. It's a gorgeous campus!

We all walked home, which will be how I am now getting to class everyday! Ha ha Until I figure out the bus system that is! The views on our walk are gorgeous! There are some pictures of it below. Once we got home the jet lag was still sort of getting the best of us and we all napped. The naps are great here because I still sleep so hard from being tired!

One of my roommates Kate and I spent the evening once we woke up researching our weekend plans! There will be lots of pictures to come with all of that and of course some good stories! Just wait and see! Then we decided after our research we would go and check out the Piazza Santa Maria di Trastavere. Trastavere is the street that I live on. We walked for about twenty minutes through these side streets then all of a sudden it opened up to this beautiful square with lots of people! The architecture here is so beautiful no matter where you go! I am loving it!

After another tasty dinner, we just went exploring around the square. It was beautiful! Also, the gelato is delicious!! We have had it pretty much every night!

Today we are off to our first day of school!

Enjoy the pictures below!

Came around the corner and look what we found!

A gate to a soccer field on our campus.

Not sure what these white flowers are but they smell amazing!

The street looking up towards campus!

A fountain in the park that I walk through everyday for class!

The view from steps on my way to class.

Piazza at Santa Maria di Trastevere. Yes Dad,  they even have tipis in Italy!
